About The Distillery
Oak House Distillery was purpose-built in 2020 behind the historic Henry Bishop farmhouse located on Macon Hwy and has the distinction of being the first legal distillery in Athens Georgia since the 1860s. The farmhouse now hosts the Oak House Speakeasy, offering an extensive seasonal menu of delectable cocktails in an intimate and relaxing environment that evokes the speakeasy salons of times gone by. Our founders’ passion for crafting world-class artisanal spirits has led to National and International gold medals, as well as “Best of” recognition at the State level from the Georgia Trustee’s organization.

For the curious, we offer tours of the production facility, where the operation of our custom 10-plate column still and single-retort copper pot still is presented in an engaging format that includes a tasting of each of our products.
If you are seeking deeper insight, once a month our Master Distiller offers a unique hands-on half-day training course in distillery operation, in which you will produce your own bottle of gin.
